The old cliche "you only get one chance to make a first impression" exists for a reason. When it comes to selling your home in 2024, this could not be more true! Buyers are looking for their next home and as the seller you want it to be your property. When it comes to selling your home we've outlined some tips to make the best first impression possible.
1. Clear driveways and sidewalks
It helps the buyer feel like the home is well maintained and that the current owner has pride of ownership.... along with that it allows easy access into the property.
As a Realtor® I encourage people to live in their home however feels good to them but when it comes to selling it's important to have the home organized and clutter free. This allows the buyer to really focus on the space rather that your stuff.
3. Finish Projects
We all have endless home projects on the go, and if you're like most of us they don't quite seem to get finished. If you are hoping to sell in the new year we recommend finishing those started projects and not starting any new ones. We don't want the buyer to see a to-do list but rather a move-in ready home.
Give your home a really good clean. Studies have shown that a clean and well-maintained home is perceived as more valuable to buyers. It gives them some peace of mind of their potential investment and in some cases has raised what they are willing to pay for a property so take a day or two and give the place a good scrub.
