Things to consider as a pet owner when buying your fur-ever home!

Did you know that according to a 2020 realtor.com survey, 84% of people consider their pets needs as extremely important when purchasing a new home. So we know our furry (and not so furry) little friends are important but what are the top 5 things considered by pet owners looking at buying a new home?

  1. Large Yard.

  2. Outdoor Space.

  3. Garage.

  4. A Dog Run.

  5. Proximity to Outdoor Spaces

A few bonus things to consider when buying a home are:

  • Type of flooring. A vinyl plank or tile can be nice for easy clean up whereas carpet can hold onto fur and scents.

  • Neighbourhood regulations. Some condos and neighbourhoods will have restrictive covenants that don't allow certain breeds or size of pets. It's important to know that before buying.

  • Walking Trails. A home near walking trails can be great for pets and owners alike.
