Grande Prairie Family Neighbourhoods

Having lived in Grande Prairie for 30+ years we decided to share some thoughts about some of the best family neighbourhoods in Grande Prairie.

The corner of a neighbourhood street in fall There is a tall maple tree that 's leaves are falling. There is a truck parked in the driveway that has a Helen Harder Real Estate Team decal.

We've lived in several homes in the Crystal Lake area and have absolutely loved it! There are quite a few cul-de-sacs and quieter streets which is nice for growing families. There are also several parks, a bike track, schools, and walking trails around the entire lake. It has several bus stops throughout and is close to numerous convenience stores. It feels both convenient but also private.

We lived in Pinnacle Ridge for a short period of time when the development was just starting. Although it's been a long time since living there we found (at that time) that there were a lot of young families which was great for our kids. It is close to several schools, grocery stores, churches, and bus stops. It also has some playgrounds and convenience stores.

Although we've never lived in Swanavon or Avondale it has always been a place we looked at. It is such a mature neighbourhood with huge lots and so much character. It has a school nearby, tennis courts, playgrounds, disc gold, walking trails and is close to downtown. Many of the homes in this area require a bit of work due to their age but I've always thought it's worth it for all you get.

We had an investment property in Highand Park which we chose specifically because of the area. Similar to Swanavon and Avondale it is a mature neighbourhood with many families. It is fairly central which provides quick access to all areas of Grande Prairie. It is close to schools, grocery stores, bus stops, and playgrounds. Many homes in this area don't last long on the market as it is quite a desirable neighbourhood.

Another area we've never lived in but had many friends live in, is Country Club. It is an area known for being family oriented and a real community vibe. It has schools, playgrounds, fields, access to walking trails and a dog park. It is close to grocery stores and has plenty of bus stops. It too is an established neighbourhood so the lots are bigger than the newer neighbourhoods and it has mature trees and open space.

Stay tuned for more of our opinions on other Grande Prairie neighbourhoods and what each one has to offer!
